Group Farm Tour - School Group
Getting out of the classroom to learn about animals in our beautiful rural homestead gets you an A+
Service Description
Visit as a school group to learn about fiber farming, the animals we use and interact one on one with them. Each School group is taken on a carefully curated tour of our farm, with students learning about each of our animal groups. From sheep breeds and their diets, Alpaca and their history in Canada to our dairy goat and cows. Our chickens are always happy to cluck at kids and they can even check for eggs! The students are given the opportunity to interact with the animals and are given feed to give to their chosen critters. After the farm tour, we retire to the boutique where the students are given a hands on demonstration of fiber types (from the animals we just met), hand spinning, weaving and what we can and do make with our luxury fibers. Each student is given a chance to try their hand on our rigid heddle or table loom (dependent on availability) and a take home print out/colouring page and coupon for a return visit is given to take home. We encourage questions and love seeing kids discover farming and fiber! **Please note. Student fee is $5/person, $1/person for chaperones. Please include when checking out the number expected. The deposit will be deducted from the final bill, payable on the date of service. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
