Brigadoon Fiber Farm

Bringing Fine Alpaca Fibers, Yarns and More, to You!

About Us

From our family to yours

Welcome to Brigadoon Fiber and Alpaca Farm. A must see when you visit Fredericton or traveling the River Valley Scenic Drive. Our herd of award-winning, double registered alpacas are the foundation of our operations. Raised primarily for their fiber, we breed and sell them. We breed some of the best alpaca in New Brunswick and are committed to raising the standard of quality. Our animals are double registered huacaya alpaca along with a few sheep. Our products are all hand crafted in house or at small local mill.

We are honored to be the caretakers of our historic home. Built c1867, The homestead was established by the Hoyt Family c1830 and has been farmed since that time. In that time, we are the second non-Hoyt family to own this farm and we aim to return it to it's rustic, Victorian beauty. When we purchased it in 2015, it was a beautiful diamond in the rough, derelict and abandoned. It remains a works in progress.

We specialize in Fiber and fiber arts. In our shop you'll be able to find amazing alpaca and woolen yarns, roving, fiber, apparel and more from our very own herd. Classes are provided on site in many fiber arts. Sign up for a chance to learn a new skill. Rachel is a lifelong fiber artist working in multiple mediums. With an interest in historical reproduction and fiber uses, Rachel focused on historical manufacturing methods and applications. She is a self-taught weaver, spinner, dyer and knitter. Rachel is passionate about sharing her craft through teaching workshops and supplying heirloom quality wearable textiles, fiber art kits and supplies through her business on site at Brigadoon Fiber Farm. She strives to provide a product that is ethically sourced, ecofriendly and from “sheep to shawl”. Each item includes the name of the animal who produced the fiber. Rachel has recently been expanding and exploring hand painted yarns, roving and alpaca products which are now being sold in studios and shops across Canada.

The animals will be visible in the field and you may be lucky enough to give some apple treats to our fiber producers. We'll also have fresh farm eggs, preserves, cider, goats milk soap, veggies and more when seasonally available.

Come out and visit us for a wonderful day in the country. Meet the animals, see the process and sign up for a class. Discover the beauty and eco friendly traits of Alpaca. Go home with your very own piece of our farm - perfect for Christmas shopping, baby showers, birthday presents or spoiling yourself.
